After the Pandemic: Live Streaming
- The pandemic encouraged the development of live-streaming, due to people are mostly staying in quarantine. Live-streaming is a newly prevailing form of We Media that gives people a channel to express and to vent.
- The number of live-streaming content are quite small compares to other forms of content. The number in the pre-pandemic year even started with 0. However, during the pandemic, the number of YouTube live-streaming had a small but significant increase, within the 3 months of 2022 when this research was conducted, there appears to be 8 live-streams, which is more than the sum of the previous three years.
- FGM-related live-streaming content could be researched again in the future, as a new form of We-Media, it could have an impact on how people treat FGM victims, and people’s attitude towards FGM.
